What the agent should do

Use one bias carefully, not as a diagnosis.

Canonical definition

Distinction bias is our tendency to overpredict how much some differences between options will matter when we compare the options side by side. During comparison, tiny gaps are easy to see. During real experience, when we usually live with one option at a time, many of those gaps become much less important. We can become excellent detectives of differences that our future self may barely notice.
