Availability Heuristic is the use of how easily examples or scenarios come to mind as one cue for judging how common or likely something is. This shortcut can be useful when accessible examples really track frequency, and misleading when vividness, repetition, recency, or personal experience makes some examples easier to recall than their frequency justifies.
