Use Fading Affect Bias as a focused cognitive-bias lens. Explain the pattern, check whether it plausibly fits the situation, surface an alternative non-bias explanation, and return a practical counter-check without diagnosing people or claiming causation.
What the agent should do
Fading Affect Bias is an average pattern in autobiographical memory: the emotional intensity linked to negative events tends to weaken faster over time than the emotional intensity linked to positive events. It does not mean that every negative memory fades, that painful experiences become positive, or that factual details are rewritten in the same way as emotional intensity.
